ABOUT MEHi! I’m Shakira, an ex-agency leader and digital PR specialist with a decade of experience helping brands get seen, talked about, and remembered.
As the story often goes, I stumbled into digital PR on a stroke of luck, whilst travelling and living in Melbourne after completing my English Literature degree.
As someone who has always loved storytelling and the psychology behind marketing, I quickly found the industry was the perfect fit and brought my skills back home to the UK.
Over the next 10 years, I worked at several award-winning northern agencies, most recently as Head of PR at Journey Further, before moving to London to lead the PR offering at Kaizen.
Across my decade in the industry, I’ve helped brands of all sizes make an impact, securing top-tier media coverage, driving online visibility, and crafting PR strategies to propel business growth.
I’ve worked with household names such as M&S, Atom bank, Lick Paint, Compare The Market, Christy, Silver Cross, Giffgaff, Moonpig, Card Factory, Ocean Florida, Canal & River Trust, and Mothercare, as well as ambitious startups, challenger brands, and passionate founders looking to break through in competitive markets.
My agency background means I’ve worked across multiple industries and collaborated with multi-functional teams, delivering everything from fame-building creative campaigns to brand and product launches, reactive PR, and SEO-driven PR strategies.
Along the way, I’ve secured standout coverage for my clients in dream publications like the BBC, The Independent and Metro, as well as countless niche, highly relevant titles.
When I’m not building brands and securing coverage, you’ll find me travelling, reading, obsessing over the latest interior and fashion trends, trying new restaurants, or spending time with my dog and two cats.
